Social Media at Work – Is it costing too much money?

Another fascinating infographic has been unearthed by the excellent Malhar Barai over at his blog. This one is a terrific insight into how much time we spend on social media sites and extrapolates that time into impact on the economy and work in general, it also looks at the impact of Facebook on students!

An interesting ‘I told you so’ from the Social Media Naysayers? Or does it spectacularly miss the point? You decide!

Thanks Malhar and you can also see the original here.

Awesome graphic! “The best thing about social media is that it’s free!” I heard this the other day, and cringed. While it’s true that we don’t need a credit card or PayPal account to use Facebook or Twitter, there is still a cost to social media. We pay daily with our time.”

Hi Patrick! Absolutely, couldn’t agree more, though I think we are finally starting to shake lose that misconception slowly but surely! Thanks for taking the time to comment

Good stuff as always thank you Tony. Just got one of those “humorous” emails claiming the three biggest “time-wasters” will one day merge to form “YouTwitFace.com”. Five years from now social media will look very different for sure – like IBM – Microsoft – Apple – ?
